Visited the midwife at Princess Alexandra Hospital and it was a very pleasant experience, the midwife was friendly and the other staff were helpful and friendly. Great Costa coffee shop inside and also M&S which was nice. Hopefully my labour and delivery will be as good an experience.
The nurses do a brilliant job although they have protocol to follow which doesn't benefit the care of the patients. My Mum had to wait from 10.30 in the morning until 5.45 in the discharge lounge before they arranged for her to go home. My Dad wanted to pay for a taxi to get her home but they wouldn't do that. After spending 9 days in bed/chair this was a despicable way to treat an elderly patient. She was also let down by the food they gave her. She is type 2 diabetic and the menu does not cater for that and the ward woulnt give her gluten free or low sugar food.
My daughter fell ill during the weekend. I took her to the Children A&E. The staff and facilities exceeded all the expectation. I believe it is one of the finest A&E facilities Ive ever been to. All the staff members were kind, polite, caring, -the list is endless!!!She was seen by 3 different professionals, X Ray was taken, tests done. The doctor (Jenny) was really positive and child friendly. She explained the diagnosis well and gave good advice re: home care.Thank you, the lovely people of Children A&E at The Princess Alexandra hospital
Maternity ward absolutely amazing. Best hospital ever. Midwives are the best amongst the best. My experience as a first time mum was the best here.
