By no means the worst trader I've come across in 20 years of car collecting, but inconsistent levels of service mean there's room for improvement in these key areas:1 - Checking of cars prior to sale - This car suffered a range of issues lasting sx months after purchase. Primary of which was a persistent coolant leak, which Lakeside's supplier (Dynamics Autos) had ongoing issues fixing. This did cause significant cost and inconvenience to me in terms of impact to my time spent collecting, testing & recovering the car. I'm satisfied Lakeside did what the law requires, but I can't really review a sale of a car needing 6 months work before being driveable as a 'good' experience, car simply should be fit for purpose at the point of sale2 - Quality of work - Lakeside attempted an ill-advised repair (attempted to fix a defective 997 Turbo spoiler ram using 996 Internet 'fix' (steering rack stop-leak). Lakeside did later remediate properly by going 50/50 with me on an electric spoiler replacement (cheaper for us both and a sustainable fix) but the initial fix should not have been attempted at all, as known to be a temporary thing and also for completely wrong model of car (996 not 997)3 - Transparency - Lakeside avoided a fact-finding conference call that I setup regarding a defective clutch and conflicting information being given to me by Lakeside and their supplier (Dynamic Autos). 4 - Responsiveness - Not responding to customer and RAC emails over period of several weeks. I escalated to RAC senior management and Lakeside have now engaged5 - Inconsistent ownership of issues - Sometimes Lakeside were really good in this area, other times had to be chased by me to find out what was happening with my car. Lakeside were often let down by their supplier of labour and skill - Dynamic Autos - but they did not help themselves in a few key areas and, IME of collecting performance cars over the last 20 years, they didn't come up to the customer service standard I have come to expect in the performance car market.
Good selection of quality cars are available
Bought my new car there. Great service, friendly and not rushed. Quality vehicles. Hope to return for my next one.
After spending 5 unsuccessful weeks looking for a Porsche that ticked all my boxes, i found an advert for Lakeside cars in Harlow. When i arrived at the showroom i was greeted by one of the sales guys who explained which of the 15 Porsche 911's we still available. For the past 5 weeks i had only been looking at coupes but then i came across the convertible! I was invited to test drive both cars and an hour later put a deposit on a convertible C4S. I'm not a fan of car dealers in general but i have nothing but good things to say about the team at Lakeside Cars. I was made very welcome, never pressurised in to making a decision and above all found the perfect Porsche! Thank you Lakeside Cars.
Couldn't have wished for better service!I wasn't able to get down to see the car for over a week so Mark suggested I secure the car with a small deposit. He said if I didn't like the car for any reason the deposit would be returned in full. I have to say the car exceeded all my expectations in every respect! I received great service from start to finish and cant recommend these guys enough. Will certainly be back in the future.
